Syrco BASÈ’s Gold Award placement positions the restaurant among the most revered destinations for gastronomy in the country, celebrated for its bold creativity, ingredient-driven philosophy, and elevated guest experiences. As one of only ten restaurants awarded Gold, this recognition reflects the discerning tastes of Asia’s high society and Prestige’s signature commitment to authentic, experience-led excellence.

The awardees, divided into Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiers, were curated through an objective and transparent process, reflecting a thoughtful consensus from industry insiders, renowned chefs, and gastronomy enthusiasts. The recognition is based on experience and excellence, not on likes, impressions, or other subjective metrics. The winners are featured in the May 2025 edition of Prestige Indonesia, The Taste Issue, and listed online at: Prestige Gourmet Awards 2025.

“We are honoured to be recognised by Prestige Indonesia,” said Chef Syrco Bakker. “This award is a tribute to the team’s passion and our dedication to offering a refined, heartfelt, and memorable fine dining journey here in Ubud.”

About Syrco BASÈ

Launched in January 2024 in Ubud, Bali, Syrco BASÈ is a pioneering culinary hub created by two Michelin-starred chef Syrco Bakker, along with his culturally diverse team of culinary professionals, sommeliers, mixologists, architects, artists and designers. Although the Michelin Guide is yet to enter Indonesia, this is the first time a two-starred chef has established a restaurant in the country, and the archipelago’s extraordinary produce, culinary traditions, artisans, farmers and fishers—along with Chef Syrco’s Indonesian roots—are celebrated throughout the five distinct areas of the culinary hub. Rather than simply focusing on sustainability, Chef Syrco and his team engage in constant dialogue with each ingredient’s supplier to ensure that every step in the supply chain is one of fairness, integrity and respect, and encapsulates his guiding principles of Traceability, Nature, and Transparency. Just six months after opening, Syrco BASÈ was listed among Bali’s 20 best restaurants by major Australian media outlet, Traveller and mentioned as one of the Best Restaurants in Indonesia in 2024 by Travel + Leisure Tastemakers.
