Hong Kong – April 28, 2023 - Travel + Leisure announced the results of its highly anticipated annual It List and 500 List of the Best Hotels in the World, with Mandarin Oriental receiving top honors. Known for their outstanding service and commitment to excellence, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, and Mandarin Oriental, Paris were recognised in the 500 List of the Best Hotels in the World, chosen by Travel + Leisure’s team of hospitality experts.

Earning a spot in the highly coveted It List is the newest hotel to the Mandarin Oriental portfolio, Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, which just opened at the end of September 2022. The landmark property which has been on the shores of Lake Lucerne since 1906 reopened last year after extensive renovation with 136 exquisitely designed rooms and suites, elevated dining experiences, a holistic Spa and elegantly appointed function rooms.

“The Travel + Leisure It List and 500 List of the Best Hotels in the World are among the most sought-after in the hotel industry. These awards are a real testament to the fastidious care, time, and attention to detail that our colleagues have put into creating these properties. We take pride in crafting unique experiences punctuated with unforgettable moments that will delight and enrich for years to come,” said Christoph Mares, Chief Operating Officer at Mandarin Oriental.

Selected by Travel + Leisure editors, the 2023 It List recognises the 100 most exciting hotel openings and re-openings around the world. Over the past year, the editors sifted through hundreds of hotels across the globe, which were then narrowed to just 100 in total. 37 countries are represented on this year's list. Each hotel has been vetted by Travel + Leisure. This is the 18th annual Travel + Leisure It List.

Each year, the readers of Travel + Leisure vote for their favorite destinations, city hotels, resorts, and more in the World’s Best Awards survey. Drawing on the 2022 World’s Best Awards survey results, Travel + Leisure recognises the 500 best hotels around the globe in the 2023 edition of the T+L 500. The T+L 500 properties are divided into eight geographic regions, designed to serve as a trusted resource for millions of enthusiastic travelers. The T+L 500 is not a ranked list.

The 2023 It List and 500 List of the Best Hotels in the World are published online at Travel + Leisure’s website and celebrated in the May issue of Travel + Leisure’s US edition.
