Oshom Bali Approaches Two Years of Creative Hospitality and Community
Oshom Bali is approaching its second anniversary in December 2026, celebrating two years of creative hospitality, community engagement and conscious hedonism along the black lava sands of Pantai Nyanyi, within Nuanu Creative City, Bali. Founded by Daisy Angus, the beachfront sanctuary has developed a distinctive hospitality concept combining barefoot luxury, immersive wellness, artistic expression and community-led experiences. From its popular Sunday Social Ritual to its upcoming anniversary celebrations, Oshom Bali continues to explore a more creative and connected approach to luxury hospitality in Indonesia.
OSHOM BALI APPROACHES TWO YEARS OF CREATIVE HOSPITALITY, COMMUNITY AND CONSCIOUS HEDONISM
Oshom offers a different perspective on luxury hospitality: one that makes room for both introspection and celebration, thoughtful experiences and spontaneous connection. Since opening, the property has continued to develop its identity as a gathering place for curious travellers, creatives, wellness practitioners and Bali’s wider community, with a growing programme of events and experiences that extends well beyond the traditional hotel stay.
At the heart of Oshom is Founder Daisy Angus, whose background spans luxury travel, cultural programming and creative event production. Her vision brings these worlds together in a setting where sophisticated hospitality meets a more playful, personal, current and conscious approach to living.
Before founding Oshom, Daisy spent a decade working in luxury travel across Europe, specialising in history, art and architecture. As a travel director, she developed a reputation for crafting bespoke journeys shaped by a strong sense of place, considered detail and memorable human encounters. The experience informed a philosophy that goes beyond accommodation, placing equal importance on how people feel, what they discover and the connections they make along the way.
Her subsequent role as the first Events Creative Director for Nuanu Creative City brought this philosophy into a broader cultural context. Daisy played a pivotal role in shaping Nuanu’s creative vision, co-directing, programming and producing the inaugural editions of Suara Festival. Bringing together more than 10,000 attendees, the festival connected local culture with international perspectives, creating a platform for artists, changemakers, adventurers and storytellers.
It was this intersection of travel, creativity and community that helped shape the concept for Oshom. Drawing on her international experience while remaining rooted in Bali’s cultural landscape, Daisy set out to create a place where luxury could feel both elevated and unpretentious, where wellness could coexist with music and movement, and where guests could choose their own pace rather than follow a prescribed experience.
At Oshom, this philosophy is reflected in the property’s considered spaces, immersive wellness offerings and evolving cultural programme. Guests might come for a coastal escape, a moment of quiet reflection, an evening of music or the opportunity to meet like-minded people. The intention is to make space for all of these experiences under one roof.
Among the highlights was a three-day Field Retreat hosted by internationally recognised speaker and entrepreneur Regan Hillyer, which saw Oshom transformed into an immersive setting for personal exploration, connection and celebration. The programme brought together inspiring people, shared experiences, grand dinners and performances, with the atmosphere evolving throughout each day. From thoughtful daytime gatherings to elaborate evening celebrations and moments of magic after dark, the retreat demonstrated the property's versatility as a setting for experiences that move beyond the conventional.
Oshom's creative spirit has resonated with an eclectic mix of internationally renowned DJs, musicians, sporting champions, singers, violinists and creative talents from around the world. From spontaneous musical moments in its distinctive treehouses to unexpected encounters and shared experiences, the property has become a gathering place for extraordinary individuals from diverse backgrounds. While respecting the privacy of its guests, Oshom continues to attract inspiring personalities drawn to its distinctive blend of creativity, connection and unconventional luxury hospitality.
The property has also welcomed a number of gatherings, including a banquet dinner on the lawn hosted by the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), reflecting its appeal to international networks seeking settings that encourage meaningful exchange, fresh perspectives and connection.
Open to both hotel guests and the wider Bali and Nuanu communities, Sunday Social embodies Oshom's spirit of connection, bringing together those who call the island home and travellers passing through. Inviting guests to experience Oshom beyond an overnight stay, the programme moves between daytime workshops and wellness practices, sunset DJ sessions, swimming and relaxed coastal dining, creating a welcoming space to switch off from the digital world, meet new people and forge meaningful connections.
Programming spans a mix of mind, body and soul experiences, from facilitated conversations, storytelling and book-club gatherings to breathwork, sound journeys, somatic practices and embodied dance. Tarot and dream readings offer moments for personal reflection, while an evolving line-up of regional and international DJs carries the atmosphere from laid-back afternoon sounds from sunset into twilight.
And there is plenty more on the horizon. From an exciting new restaurant concept to a fresh direction for Oshom's Lava Shack, the coming months promise new experiences and creative possibilities. Alongside an evolving calendar of events and immersive programming, Oshom is continuing to find new ways to surprise, inspire and bring people together, with even bigger ambitions for the future still to be revealed.
At the heart of the celebrations is Between Sun & Moon, Oshom's second-anniversary gathering on 21 December 2026, coinciding with Bali's summer solstice. Set against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, the evening will bring together golden rituals, oceanfront dining and music, inviting guests to celebrate two years of creativity, connection and shared experiences. A three-course sharing dinner, served at long communal tables, will culminate in a celebratory anniversary dessert, while guests are encouraged to embrace the celestial theme in sunlit gold, moonlit ivory or midnight tones.
The festivities continue with A Golden Tropical Christmas on 24 December, followed by Christmas in the Garden on Christmas Day and The Golden Afterglow on 26 December. Across the programme, Oshom's signature blend of coastal dining, creativity and celebration will offer guests a distinctive way to experience the festive season in Bali.
For those wishing to extend their stay, Oshom will also introduce Stay Between Sun & Moon, a two-night anniversary package including daily breakfast, dinner tickets for two and late checkout, subject to availability.
