EUROPE & NORTH AFRICA REAWAKENING

21 April 2022 – As we patiently await the arrival of summer, Aman’s destinations across Europe and North Africa are preparing to welcome back guests into their warm embrace. With borders open to international travel, Aman’s hotels and resorts in the region offer spacious, private sanctuaries in which to make up for lost time. From wellness initiatives to culinary discoveries, guests are invited to rediscover the region with a range of new experiences for the 2022 season, exclusive to Aman.

Amanzoe, Greece

Opening for the season on 1 April 2022, Amanzoe’s guest Pavilions, Beach Cabanas and Villas are ready and waiting to welcome guests back to the Peloponnese. With panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the Aegean Sea, along with an Aman Spa and a private Beach Club, the resort offers new experiences for guests visiting this season.

Ideal for those seeking privacy with views of turquoise waters, Amanzoe’s one-to-nine-bedroom Villas feature large private swimming pools, expansive outdoor terraces, and dedicated staff - including private chefs to tend to every need. Surrounded by tranquil olive groves, they offer exclusivity on the peninsula, within close proximity to the resort’s amenities. New for 2022, the resort welcomes an additional two-bedroom Villa. The newly constructed villa offers seamless indoor-outdoor living with several exterior terraces, including a large swimming pool and outdoor kitchen area ideal for entertaining. Inside, the villa’s seamless flowing layout welcomes the outdoors in, with airy spaces, alongside two large en-suite bedrooms providing an exceptional family retreat.

Whether staying in a Villa, Pavilion or Beach Cabana, all guests visiting Amanzoe will be able to enjoy The Garden Table. A new al fresco setting for cooking classes and tastings overlooking the resort’s own organic gardens, The Garden Table celebrates its setting with a rustic outdoor kitchen and wood-fired oven. Tended by a team of gardeners, a variety of fruit, vegetables and herbs are grown on property throughout the year including tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, bell peppers, parsley, dill and mint. In this new venue, guests can opt for a private dining experience, a private outdoor cooking class with a tour of the gardens, or a cheese, wine or olive oil tasting, arranged upon request.

Amanzoe will also celebrate its 10th anniversary this August. The milestone will be marked with series of events and activities designed for the occasion. Details of the programme will be revealed in due course.

Aman Venice, Italy

The Grand Canal winds its way through the heart of Unesco-protected Venice, and it is in one of the gracious palazzos lining this historic waterway that Aman Venice is housed, offering guests a serene retreat in the heart of the floating city.

Those visiting the property this spring will be invited to experience the city’s rich culture, local cuisine and vibrant arts scene, with several new and unique activities, exclusive to Aman Venice. The first, An Evening with Chef Norbert, invites gastronomy fans to experience the cuisine of three-Michelin star chef Norbert Niederkofler, who will visit Aman Venice on selected dates throughout the season. Hosting a series of ‘Cook the Lagoon’ themed dinners, guests will enjoy a six-course tasting menu with a focus on fresh seasonal produce sourced from the Veneto region and prepared by Chef Norbert himself. Alongside an optional wine pairing, guests can choose to extend the experience with a two-night stay including daily breakfast and a cocktail and cicchetti in the hotel’s iconic bar.

The hotel will also offer the traditional flavours of Japan this season, with a pop-up Teppanyaki Restaurant in the Palazzo Kitchen. With exact dates to be confirmed, this intimate dining space comprises an open kitchen that looks out onto tranquil private gardens, where guests will watch the chefs prepare local meat and seafood over a hot grill. Bringing a taste of Asia to one of Venice’s most opulent Palazzos, the menu will also feature dishes inspired by Aman Kyoto in Japan, a secret garden retreat in the city’s northern Takagamine district.

Alternatively, art enthusiasts will be able to discover Homo Faber, an art event running from 10 April – 1 May 2022 on St Giorgio Island. With live demonstrations, immersive digital experiences and imaginative displays of handcrafted creations imagined by a team of exceptional curators and designers, Aman Venice will offer daily complimentary tickets to the event, allowing guests to experience some of the world’s finest arts and craftsmanship.

Guests will also be invited to reconnect with the natural world, with the introduction of new itineraries on board the resort’s wooden motor yacht. Trips across the bay will now stop at two islands – the first of which, Küçük Tavşan Adası (Little Rabbit Island), known for its large population of small rabbits, and the second, Mercan Adası (Red Coral Island) named after the distinctive colour of its rocks and stone cliffs.

Amanjena, Morocco

Surrounded by palm and olive trees, Amanjena is a tranquil retreat located near the fabled city of Marrakech. Moorish heritage is reflected throughout the pisé-walled resort, which has 40 guest Pavilions and Maisons, each echoing the style of a sultan’s palace.

ABOUT AMAN

Aman was founded in 1988 with the vision of building a collection of intimate retreats with the unassuming, warm hospitality of a gracious private home. The first, Amanpuri (place of peace) in Phuket, Thailand, introduced the concept and, since then, Aman has grown to encompass 33 exquisitely serene hotels and resorts in 20 destinations across the world. A further eight properties are under construction, with the next to open in New York (2022). In such spectacular settings, Aman has honed its offering with its transformative influence on mind, body and spirit through harmoniously designed environments transporting guests out of their everyday lives. Twelve properties also offer private branded Residences: sanctuaries that go beyond commonplace notions of luxury allowing a select few to make the Aman way of life a permanent reality.

In recent years, Aman has grown to offer its coveted lifestyle beyond the parameters of its havens. In 2018, the introduction of Aman Skincare continued the brand’s holistic influence, offering beautiful, scented formulas using powerful all-natural ingredients and inspired by Aman Spas. The introduction of Sva - a range of supplements designed to help maintain optimum health - and Aman Fine Fragrance in 2020 continued this journey, bringing Aman into the comfort of home. This sentiment was echoed in 2021, with the arrival of a new retail collection, The Essentials by Aman, comprising timeless ready-to-wear pieces that answer the needs of every Aman guest.

With innovation a cornerstone of the brand’s philosophy, in 2020, Aman welcomed a new hotel brand, Janu, a unique take on hospitality where genuine human interaction, playful expression and social wellness are at the core of the experience. Three forthcoming Janu hotels are already under construction: Montenegro (2023), Al Ula in Saudi Arabia (2023) and Tokyo (2023). In more recent months, Aman also announced Project Sama, a 50-suite luxury motor yacht that will redefine ocean travel, set to launch in 2025.
