Kasbah Tamadot: Three MICHELIN Keys and Restoration

13 October 2025 – Virgin Limited Edition, Sir Richard Branson’s award-winning collection of unique hotels and retreats, is proud to announce that Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas in Mallorca and Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco have been recognised in the inaugural Global MICHELIN Key selection 2025 by The MICHELIN Guide, which celebrates the world’s most exceptional hotels.

At the official ceremony in Paris, Kasbah Tamadot was awarded an outstanding Three MICHELIN Keys, acknowledging it as ‘an extraordinary stay and one of the world’s most remarkable hotels’, an accolade received by only 143 properties worldwide this year. Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas, which opened in 2023, was honoured with One MICHELIN Key, recognising it as ‘a very special stay with character, personality, and service that goes the extra mile to create unforgettable experiences’.

Kasbah Tamadot, located in the foothills of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, re-opened one year ago having undergone major restoration works and expansion to include six riads and a second restaurant, following the devastating earthquake that occurred in the region in September 2023.

With the local community at its heart and 100% of employees hailing from Morocco, the hotel offers guests not only exceptional accommodation but a true Berber experience, celebrating local tradition while supporting and uplifting the surrounding communities in partnership with its charitable arm, The Eve Branson Foundation.

The magical retreat features individually designed suites, Berber Tents and three-bedroom Riads with private pools and breathtaking views of Mount Toubkal. The hotel’s spa offers a traditional hamman experience and locally inspired treatments for both adult guests and children aged four upwards, while its two restaurants offer dining experiences that blend authentic Moroccan cuisine with international flavours.

Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas: A New Retreat Honoured

Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas is set on an 810-acre estate within a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mallorca’s Tramuntana Mountain region. The 16th century Finca building at the heart of the estate has been beautifully restored to combine traditional Mallorcan charm with modern luxury. Guests can enjoy two outstanding restaurants, including Sa Tafona, located in the estate’s historic oil mill and retaining much of its original character.

Sa Tafona celebrates the Mediterranean’s most iconic flavours through its ever-changing Mare and Nostrum tasting menus, perfectly complemented by a carefully selected range of natural wines from Mallorca and across the Mediterranean.
