From 7-10 June, the four-day retreat will offer an antidote to the stress of daily life by opening the senses to the natural world. Geshe La will share elemental secrets and Tibetan Bon practices – including meditation, mantra chanting and movement – drawing on the American West’s most spectacular landscape to rejuvenate body, mind and spirit, and improving quality of life in the present.

Having studied with the Dalai Lama, Geshe Yong Dong is a master in letting go and living in the present. Deepening the connection with the elements from the moment of arrival, an intimate welcome ceremony and a group yoga and sound bowl experience in the starkly beautiful desert at Amangiri will offer a warm welcome to the retreat.

Over the four days, Geshe La will provide wisdom into ancient meditation techniques and the longevity benefits of a closer connection to nature during daily lectures and outdoor sessions including early morning sunrise mindfulness walks along the Coyote Trail, winding through the 165-million-year-old Entrada sandstone rock terrain. Additionally, evening sessions such as the Tibetan Magic Movement, which incorporates sacred sounds into breathwork and chants to relieve stress and trauma, promote a heightened awareness of circadian rhythms under the glowing heavens.

Offering silence and minimal light pollution, these sessions will take place at Amangiri’s unique outdoor Thai Pavilions and Step Pool, the perfect location for Meditative Stargazing. The retreat also includes additional spa treatments (up to 3 hours) and the full use of Amangiri’s extensive spa facilities to enhance relaxation and restoration. A bespoke journal to share learnings and wisdom during the retreat, incense sticks and Monk Geshe Yong Dong’s ‘Calm Breath, Calm Mind’ book will be gifted, offering a thoughtful reminder of the retreat of a lifetime.

The Aman Spa at Amangiri provides a serene setting for ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation. Nestled into a protected valley with sweeping views towards the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, the 2,322m2 (25,000ft2) spa is inspired by the natural landscape, with a holistic spa and beauty menu which draws on world healing traditions and spa journeys designed to restore balance, harmony, health, and beauty.

The Aman Spa has been carefully curated with wellness in mind, with five tranquil indoor and outdoor treatments suites and an extensive range of facilities including hydrotherapy and floatation pavilions, a watsu pool and a state-of-the-art Fitness Centre with cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, and yoga and Pilates studios.

A short hike or drive from the main resort, truly set apart from the rest of the world amid an unearthly 900 -acre landscape of towering mesas and rust-coloured sands, Camp Sarika by Amangiri offers an elevated and private wellness experience, with two tranquil spa suites, a large pool, and daily yoga and meditation sessions held outside in an environment of soul-stirring natural beauty.

At Camp Sarika at Amangiri, Pavilions can also become a private spa centre, with an array of spa and wellness experiences such as Personalised Bodywork and Singing Bowl Soundscape sessions enjoyed within the comfort of their elegant and spacious accommodation.

Aman was founded in 1988 with the vision of building a collection of intimate retreats with the unassuming, warm hospitality of a gracious private home. The first, Amanpuri (place of peace), in Phuket, Thailand, introduced the concept and, since then, Aman has grown to encompass 35 exquisitely serene hotels, resorts and branded residences, ranging from the urban to the remote, in 20 destinations across the globe. Aman has a robust pipeline of future projects with nine under construction. In recent years, Aman Group has grown to offer its coveted lifestyle beyond the parameters of its havens including Aman Skincare (2018), supplement range Sva (2020), Aman Fine Fragrance (2020), ready -to-wear collection The Essentials by Aman (2021) and performance skincare line Aman Essential Skin (2023). With innovation a cornerstone of the brand’s philosophy, in 2020 Aman introduced a new hotel brand, Janu – meaning ‘soul’ in Sanskrit. Janu offers a unique take on hospitality where genuine human interaction, playful expression and social wellness are at the core of the experience. Janu aims to bring balance to the head and heart and rekindle the soul. In March 2024, Janu’s inaugural hotel, Janu Tokyo, opened its doors and several forthcoming Janu hotels are already under construction.
