After a four-year hiatus, Eastern & Oriental Express, A Belmond Train, Southeast Asia will make its much-anticipated return to the rails in February 2024. Offering a reimagined adventure of Southeast Asia in motion, the train will launch two new seasonal journeys departing from Singapore and travelling through Malaysia’s ever-changing landscapes and vibrant cities: the Essence of Malaysia (November to February) and Wild Malaysia (March to October). With restyled interiors, elevated on board experiences, and enthralling journeys encompassing culture, gastronomy, architecture and the arts, the Eastern & Oriental Express will take railway travel in the region to new heights, while setting a new standard of excellence in Southeast Asia.

Janu, meaning ‘soul’ in Sanskrit, marks an energising new era for hospitality with the opening of Janu Tokyo in March 2024, as the first of 12 upcoming projects by Janu across various city, country, and coastal destinations. Led by Chairman and CEO Vlad Doronin, Janu combines the 35-year legacy of Aman with Doronin's extensive expertise in global real estate development and hospitality.

Situated in the vibrant heart of Azabudai Hills, a visionary development managed by Mori Building Co. Ltd., the Janu Tokyo offers 122 light-filled rooms and suites, presenting timeless Asian-inspired interiors with contemporary European accents. The hotel's interior design, crafted by the award-winning architect Jean-Michel Gathy, showcases a thrilling exploration of textures, colors, and design elements, exuding a youthful energy and playfulness that sets it apart from its renowned sibling, Aman. Janu Tokyo aims to enhance individual well-being through connectedness and shared social experiences, with its a state-of-the-art 4,000 sqm Wellness Centre, two signature private Spa Houses and 8 dining destinations experience, fostering purposeful connections and restoring balance.



Hotel Toranomon Hills – First Property in Tokyo under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand

The opening of Hotel Toranomon Hills was marked on 6th December 2023 as the first property in Tokyo under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand. Situated in the heart of Tokyo, Hotel Toranomon Hills is poised to become an urban launchpad for cosmopolitan professionals and travelers with its comfortable and purposefully designed spaces for seamless transitions between rest, work and socializing.

The hotel is dedicated to setting the stage for their guests to discover energizing experiences, including immersive culinary moments at Le Pristine Tokyo. April 2024 will mark the official launch of Coquelicot, A Belmond Boat, Champagne – the latest addition to Belmond’s fleet of intimate river boats. Designed by French architects Humbert & Poyet, Coquelicot features three cabins with lavish ensuite facilities, an indoor salon with a bespoke champagne bar, and an extensive deck complete with open-air kitchen and dining area. To elevate the guest journey, Coquelicot will partner with Maison Ruinart to offer exclusive experiences. These includes a four-hand private lunch by Maison Ruinart’s Chef in Residence, Valérie Radou, and Coquelicot’s Head Chef as well as a private guided tour of the historic Taissy vineyard to discover the brand’s latest sustainability and artistic initiatives.

Banyan Tree Group's wellness-centric brand Veya will plant a flag in the hills of Baja California just 90 minutes from the U.S. border with the opening of Banyan Tree Veya, Valle de Guadalupe in early-2024 – marking the first Banyan Tree Veya to open in the Americas and only the second in the world. Designed by acclaimed Mexican architect Michel Rojkind, Veya Valle de Guadalupe’s sleek and modern design effortlessly blends into the rolling hills and bespoke vineyard to create a tranquil sanctuary that harnesses the powerful beauty of its natural surroundings.

Featuring 30 spacious villas, all which feature their own private plunge pool, the retreat will also be home to a trio of standout culinary outlets perched atop a hill that celebrate the local food scene; signature Veya Spa; various wellbeing experiences including a desert spring hydrotherapy, traditional temazcal and apothecary garden; and a private winery which will debut its own exclusive collection of wines dedicated solely to Grenache featuring reds, whites, rosés and sparkling house blends. Nestled in the Gion and Higashiyama district, Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto will feature 52 luxurious rooms and offer breathtaking views of the city. A unique feature of the resort will be its Noh stage, making it the first and only hotel in Kyoto city to have such an attraction. Its location makes the property especially interesting as it is secluded, yet in the city centre – the resort is located next to the Kiyomizu Temple, right on the hill beside the bamboo forest. Banyan Tree Group preserved the site in its original footprint with a compact building design and also kept the original old stone retaining wall and matured trees. The design team include Kengo Kuma & Associates as the design architect, Hashimoto Yukio Design Studio (HYDS) is responsible for the guestroom interior design, and the former Wilson Associates (that has been amalgamated into Design Worldwide Partnership) is designing the public areas. Since the hotel is located on the hill, the guest rooms give spectacular view overlooking Kyoto City.

Offering access to the white-sand paradise of the Philippines, traditional Balinese villages, the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan, verdant coastal towns in Turkey, before culminating in sublime relaxation overlooking the Aegean Sea in Greece, this experience is a global journey of discovery.


Aman Japan Culinary Journey (14-23 May 2024, 9 nights) *by bullet train and helicopter*

Offering up to 16 guests the opportunity to discover Japan’s vast and varied gourmet world, this nine-night gastronomic adventure comprises stays at all of Aman’s Japanese properties – Aman Tokyo, Amanemu and Aman Kyoto. Travelling between the three properties, and offering various excursions via helicopter and bullet train, guests will be immersed in the rich heritage of Japan’s UNESCO-celebrated cuisine, while also experiencing its myriad contemporary expressions.


A Mindful & Cultural Journey (14 - 28 October 2024, 14 nights)

An exclusive expedition across Asia, travelling west to Bhutan and India, then south onto Sri Lanka, this journey presents a unique opportunity for up to 18 guests to immerse in a mindful and cultural journey hosted by an ordained Buddhist Zen Master (Dharmacharya).
