Yogyakarta as the 4th Most Affordable City in the world

According to a recent study, Yogyakarta will rank as the fourth-most cheap city getaway spot worldwide in 2023. The 2021 City Break Cost Index has been updated by the travel specialists at Bounce for 2023. To determine the best economical locations for your city break in 2023, the team studied 75 of this year's most well-liked vacation spots based on expenses including hotel rates, beer costs, and one-way transportation costs.




Methodology

In order to determine the average cost of the next five expenses for 75 popular city break locations, we looked through list articles. We then assigned each city a normalized score out of ten. To get our affordability score out of 10, we averaged the scores for each of the five categories.

According to Kayak, the average cost per night for a hotel stay on a Friday or Saturday.
Meal at a restaurant: based on Numbeo, the average cost of a meal at a "affordable" restaurant.

Draft beer: According to Numbeo, the average cost of a 0.5-liter domestic draft beer.
Bottle of wine - Numbeo estimates the typical cost of a mid-range bottle of wine.
Taxi: According to Numbeo, the average cost of a one-kilometer taxi ride at a standard rate.











For 2023, Timisoara is rated as the world's most cheap city break location. The nightly rate for a hotel room in the city is €114.31. The average cab fare per kilometer in the city is €0.72, making transportation incredibly affordable. It is simple to understand why the city was chosen as 2021's cultural capital of Europe.

Since 2021, Buenos Aires has fallen to second place and is now the second most cheap city break. The city continues to provide the cheapest bottle of wine at €3.65 and the least expensive one-way local transportation ticket at €0.16.

The capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, is a new addition to the ranking, coming in third. With an average one-way ticket on public transportation costing just €0.26, getting around the city is quite inexpensive. The price of a draught beer in Baku is also among the lowest in the world at just €1.60.
