Aman Le Mélézin

Aman Le Mélézin will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year as it reopens for the ski season on 9 December 2022. Marking the occasion, the property will host exclusive new offers and unique experiences which take full advantage of the hotel’s enviable location, exceptional facilities and unparalleled knowledge of the region. An Alpine icon since 1992, this remarkable hotel has offered France’s finest all-round ski experience from its spectacular setting in Courchevel 1850 for exactly three decades.

Situated directly on Bellecôte Piste with awe-inspiring mountain and forest vistas all around, Aman Le Mélézin claims one of the most desirable locales in Courchevel 1850 in the heart of Les Trois Vallées. Guests staying in the hotel’s 31 Chambres and Suites – most with balconies or extensive terraces, several with outdoor cedar hot-tubs and all with breathtaking views – are offered Aman-finessed ski-in/ski-out services, as well as a comprehensive wellness sanctuary and a selection of fine dining restaurants and convivial aprčs ski areas. The latter include Nama, Aman’s signature Japanese restaurant, and an expansive sun terrace and bar just a glide away from all the village has to offer.

Unforgettable experiences

Aman Le Meěleězin has introduced an exhilarating First Tracks adventure, sure to be a highlight of even the most advanced skiers’ stay. An experienced ski instructor takes you to the highest point within the valley, where panoramas of Mont Blanc and La Grande Casse await. Skiers can then embark on a breathtaking solo glide down ‘La Combe de la Saulire’, a legendary ski run where fresh snow is sheltered year-round from strong winds, enabling an unspoiled descent down the mountainside.

Sating appetites stimulated by the pristine Alpine air, Aman Le Mélézin’s anniversary dining experiences include Evening Adventure at Les Prés de la Croix, a picture postcard mountain chalet, and aprčs ski Aman Champagne & Volzhenka Caviar pairing at the hotel’s bar. The first involves a horse-drawn carriage ride at dusk from La Tania (a 30-minute drive from the hotel) to Les Prés de la Croix, where a typical Savoyard dinner of cheese fondue or hotpot awaits beside a roaring log fire. A bespoke five-course menu created by a private chef can also be arranged on Friday evenings. Children can play games in the chalet’s mezzanine or sled beneath the stars before the homeward journey (by toboggan or snowbike to La Tania) concludes with a taxi-transfer back to the hotel.

Another celebration will also take place on the slopes of Courchevel this coming season, as the ski resort welcomes the FIS World Ski Championships. Taking place from 6 to 19 February 2022, the competition will be hosted on a new 3,200-metre-long piste, l’Eclipse, created especially for the occasion. Within easy reach of Aman Le Mélézin, guests visiting during this time will be able to use the hotel as a base for spectating the world’s finest snowsports professionals in action.
