Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final Calls Fans and Future Stars to Mallorca

Golf fans will flock to the award-winning Clube de Golf Alcanada next month as Mallorca hosts the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A, offering an unmissable opportunity to watch future DP World Tour stars in competitive action.

Taking place from November 3-6, spectators can register for free to attend the event, which is the culmination of one of the game’s most exciting and historically rich competitions. The field will be made up of the top 45 players from the Road to Mallorca Rankings - decided over an action-packed year of golf - with the top 20 after the Grand Final handed a priceless prize: a DP World Tour card for the 2023 season.

The climax will be hosted by Clube de Golf Alcanada, ranked by Top 100 Golf Courses as the best golf course on the island and frequently entrusted with staging prominent tournaments. With 18 exciting holes designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr - as well as the recent installation of Mallorca’s first Toptracer facility - Alcanada is a fitting venue for an event that could see some prospective golfing heroes announce themselves to the world.

Mallorca has long since earned a reputation as one of the world’s premium destinations for lovers of golf and travel. The Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final will highlight the best Mallorca has to offer, with local food and produce from around the iconic island set to be available at the event. Clube de Golf Alcanada is the only course on the island that directly neighbours the magnificent Mediterranean Sea, offering spectacular vistas for golfers and viewers alike.

Kristoff Both, director of golf at Clube de Golf Alcanada, said: “We can't wait to welcome The Challenge Tour back to Alcanada. The Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by the R&A is such as exciting event, so we hope to see as many golf fans as possible from Mallorca come to Alcanada to see the players fight for a place on the DP World Tour, and also sample some of the best local produce from around the island.”

For more than three decades the Challenge Tour has been professional golf’s breeding ground for future legends; no fewer than 32 former competitors have gone on to make their mark at the Ryder Cup. Collectively, 201 Challenge Tour alumni have accumulated well in excess of 500 wins on the DP World Tour and a dozen Major Championship victories.

As a thrilling Challenge Tour season comes to its end - and talented hopefuls dream of reaching golf’s promised lands - drama is guaranteed. Fans hoping to attend the event can register for free here (English) or here (Spanish).

About Rolex and Golf

Rolex is committed to the permanent quest for excellence in all its endeavours and has been a long-term supporter of golf in its pursuit of the same. The brand’s enduring relationship with the sport began more than 50 years ago, in 1967, when Arnold Palmer, joined by Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, became the brand’s first golfing Testimonies. Known together as The Big Three, these legendary players changed the face of golf forever, and their partnership with Rolex marked the beginning of a relationship based on the shared commitment to continuous improvement and unwavering precision. Since then, the affiliation has grown and flourished, permeating every level of the game worldwide. From elite players and golf legends to all the game’s Major championships, where success represents the pinnacle of achievement in the sport, as well as the foremost professional tours and worldwide amateur championships, Rolex is ever-present. In 2021 Rolex further deepened its support by becoming a Worldwide Partner of The Ryder Cup, to act as Official Timekeeper at every iteration of the sport’s pre-eminent team competition. The Swiss manufacturer’s support for the game is built on a strong sense of integrity and respect for tradition that promote the continuity of expertise and transfer of knowledge, and an understanding of the importance of investing in the sport’s development for future generations.
