SUSTAINABILITY AS A CORE VALUE AT PULLMAN LUANG PRABANG

LUANG PRABANG, 31 May 2022 – Pullman Luang Prabang’s team was able to gather 1,260 kilograms of rice from its recent rice harvesting, which are then shared to local farmers and heartists, as part of its core objective of promoting sustainability and community engagement.

Pullman Luang Prabang makes sure to involve its Heartists in activities that encourage sustainability and community engagement. It has been a practice for the Heartists at the resort to participate in the seasonal rice cultivation activity, as part of its team involvement program. Since the resort’s opening, the harvested rice have always been shared with the local community, farmers and its own Heartists. After the harvest, the rice husks, a byproduct of the cultivation process, are also donated to Elephant Conservation Camp, as well as Laos Buffalo Dairy, a socially-responsible enterprise that rents local buffalos for dairy production, providing local farmers with a steady income.
