Fly Like Marty McFly on The Sanchaya’s New Electric ‘OneWheel+’ Boards
MINTAN ISLAND, Indonesia (December 12, 2017) – The Sanchaya has welcomed self-balancing electric ‘OneWheel+’ boards, giving riders the feeling of flying along one of the world’s most stunning stretches of beach.
Similar to protagonist Marty McFly’s iconic hover board in the cult classic trilogy Back to the Future, the estate’s two OneWheel+ boards, also described as one-wheeled electric skateboards, reach speeds of up to 30 kph.
The Sanchaya’s estate manager Magnus Olovson said the “cool new toys” could be navigated on different terrain types across the estate, ranging from the hard sand beach overlooking Lagoi Bay’s turquoise waters to manicured lawns to winding pathways and roadways.
The Sanchaya has trained instructors to guide first-timers aged 13 and above on how to safely balance on and ride the boards made in the United States. The OneWheel+ boards join the 21-villa and nine-suite estate’s collection of recreational pursuits ranging from land sailing on wind-powered, three-wheeled Blokarts to archery, croquet, pétanque and more.
Future Motion CEO Kyle Doerksen, who grew up in the Canadian Rockies, wanted to bring the feeling of snowboarding to the pavement and invented the OneWheel, the new premium model OneWheel+’s predecessor, four years ago in a bid to find a better way to tackle his morning walk to work.
