SAFETY ZONE
According to the local authorities, apart from the "danger zone" which is a small area with a radius of approximately 10 kilometres from Mount Agung's crater, there will be no immediate impact even in the event of an eruption.All Plataran Hotels & Resorts in Bali are located far away from the sleepless Mount Agung, from the properties in the south of Bali - Plataran Ubud being 50 KM away and Plataran Canggu Bali 65KM away – to Plataran Menjangan in the northwest of Bali which is 165KM away.
ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION ROUTE
Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport is currently open and operating as usual. However, for travellers concerned with the unpredictable airport closure due to the ash in the air, there are alternative ways to continue your journey in Bali.Blimbingsari Airport in Banyuwangi, East Java: The airport offers direct flights from/to Jakarta and Surabaya. The port of east Java and Bali are only separated by a narrow stretch of Bali Strait; travellers can continue their overland journey from East Java to Bali, or vice versa, via a public ferry or fast boat. The trip between Plataran Menjangan Jetty or Gili Manuk Port, located in the northwest of Bali, and the Blimbingsari airport takes approximately 2.5 hours.
Nearby International Airports: Two international airpoerts - Jakarta Soekarno–Hatta International Airport and Surabaya Juanda International Airport- can be reached There are direct flights from Blimbingsari Airport to those two airports. Or an overland journey to Surabaya via train is also available.
