Valencia and WTACH to Host First Global Culture and Heritage Tourism Summit

WTM LONDON, 7 NOVEMBER, 2022 — Visit Valencia has partnered with The World Tourism Association for Culture and Heritage (WTACH) to host the world’s first tourism summit dedicated to the protection and preservation of culture and heritage in tourism destinations.




The summit, called GS23, will take place in Valencia, Spain, 24-25 September 2023.

The overarching aim of the event will be to raise awareness and ensure that the unique attributes, history, cultural assets and values that attract tourists to locations around the world are preserved on behalf of future generations.

“We want to show Valencia’s support for a new kind of tourism that is inclusive and cherishes the magnificent diversity of culture and heritage on our planet,” said Ms Sandra Gómez, Vice Mayor of Valencia.








The agreement to host the global summit was sealed on behalf of WTACH by its President & CEO, Nigel Fell and Ms Gómez, at the Visit Valencia stand at the World Travel Market in London, 7 November.

“This inaugural summit is the expression of a movement whose time has come,” said Mr Fell.

“Our aim is to inspire good governance and for travel and tourism to be the protector of global culture and heritage assets, particularly for local communities, who are often the creators and custodians of those assets over millennia.

“Valencia is a leading light in this field, so it was a natural fit for WTACH to work with Visit Valencia to introduce our inaugural global summit,” said Mr Fell.

Valencia has a strong track record of breaking new ground on cultural matters. It is currently European Capital of Smart Tourism 2022 and World Design Capital 2022. It has also recently been named European Green Capital 2024, due to its past and current achievements in the field of sustainable tourism, climate neutrality and green transition.

“The sensitive and wise preservation of both our past and living culture is very much a part of our ‘smart tourism' ethos,” said Ms Gómez.

“Delegates will experience a dynamic city renowned for both its modern and traditional culture,” she said.

GS23 aims to attract representatives from government ministries, tourism boards, leading private sector decision makers, tour operators, corporate sponsors, community representatives, NGOs, media and others.

The GS23 conference programme and information for delegates will be hosted on the WTACH website, WTACH.org, in the coming weeks.

HITA ID Conference & Gathering 2017

HITA (Hotel Information Technology Association) merupakan asosiasi non profit yang bergerak di bidang IT perhotelan di seluruh Indonesia. HITA akan mengadakan event yang bernama “HITA ID Conference & Gathering 2017”, sebuah acara yang akan mengundang seluruh IT Perhotelan di Indonesia dalam kegiatan sharing knowledge dan gathering. Acara ini diadakan mulai tanggal 24 – 26 November 2017 yang bertempat di Allium Hotel Tangerang.

Pada tanggal 24 dan 25 November 2017, terdapat tiga seminar dalam dua hari kegiatan yang akan dihadiri oleh 150 peserta. Seminar pertama mengusung tema

“Hospitality Accounting Cycle”, yang akan disampaikan langsung oleh Bapak Jayanto Chua. Seminar ke-dua akan disampaikan oleh Bapak Anthony Dio Martin – International Certified NLP Trainer dalam acara seminar kedua dengan bentuk motivation
“Managing Team Works With Millennial”. Selain itu, acara ini turut mengundang Bapak Raymond Dumanauw VP of Technology and M.E.P Services at HPL Properties Pte Ltd Singapore dengan mengusung topik “The future of hospitality technology, The question remains, which hotel technologies do business travelers currently use and which do they wish to see offered in the future?”.

Selain kegiatan gathering, HITA juga bekerja sama dengan CNG Media & Event mengadakan event dengan nama “The Hotel Week Indonesia 2017”.

Pada kesempatan kali ini, HITA akan membuka diskusi panel dengan pembicara dari beberapa IT professional dan para pelaku industry di bidang Perhotelan serta Menteri Komunikasi dan Informasi diantaranya, Bapak Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan – Direktur Jenderal Aplikasi Informatika Kementrian Komunikasi dan Informasi (Kominfo), turut mengundang Bapak Albertus GP – Chairman Hotel Informarion Technology Association (HITA), turut mengundang juga Bapak Jamalul Izza – Ketua Umum Asosiasi Penyelenggara Jasa Internet Indonesia (APJII), serta turut mengundang Bapak Alexander Nayoan – Chairman Jakarta Hotel Association (JHA). Adapun topic yang akan dibawakan yaitu “Internet Based Services in Hospitality Market”.

Selain sesi diskusi panel, terdapat pula sesi seminar yang akan dibawakan oleh 2 pemateri professional dibidang IT dari berbagai Negara. Seminar pertama mengusung tema “The Future of hospitality technology, “ The Question remains, which hotel technologies do business travelers currently use and which do they wish to see offered in the future?”, yang akan dibawakan langsung oleh Bapak Jack Tan – Hotel Marketing & Technology Strategist/Consultant Ideaweaver Consulting Pte, Ltd. Singapore.

Dan juga acara ini turut mengundang Bapak Raymond Dumanauw – VP of Technology and M.E.P at HPL properties Pte.ltd Indonesia, Bhutan, Maldives, Malaysia, Sychelles, Singapore, South Africa, Tanzania, United Kingdom, Thailand, Vietnam, Vanuatu dengan tema “Is your hotel Future-Ready Network Infrastructure”.

Adapun tujuan dari acara ini untuk menghubungkan antar sesama IT perhotelan seluruh Indonesia tanpa memperhatikan peringkat bintang Hotel dan mengkonsolidasikannya dalam satu asosiasi untuk berbagi pengetahuan dan informasi. Khusus untuk inovasi, kemajuan teknologi untuk mendukung operasional hotel juga dalam hal me-review vendor, baik dari sisi produk, support dan after sales support.

Acara ini akan dihadiri oleh sekitar 150 profesi di bidang IT khususnya industri perhotelan dari seluruh Indonesia, Hotel IT Manager berasal dari Jabodetabek, Jawa Timur, Bandung, Solo, Surabaya, Bali, Papua, Makassar, Manado, Samarinda, Pontianak, Medan, Bangka, Palembang dan Tanjung Pinang dan Batam.

WOHFEST 2017 is an event that contains of 2 competitions. National Front Desk Competition and Latte Art Competition. The event is going to be held on Saturday, May 13th 2017 at Jln. Gunawarman #16 Jakarta Selatan from 9 am until 8 pm.
National Front Desk Competition (NFDC) will compete about contestants' integrity while handling with hotel's most treasured asset, which is the guest. Through the University/Vocational Level and Hotelier Level, we will find out the champion of the best Hotelier on each level. 
Latte Art Competition is a platform where the combat of contestants' creativity will take place. The purpose of this competition is to find the perfect image that should be created on top of the Latte. This battle will be put into 2 divisions, which are Amateur Level and Professional Level. WEGA MACCHINE PER CAFFÈ will sponsor Latte Art Competition.

The competition will be closed by performance from NSBETM.
