FHA-HoReCa 2020 postponed to later date in light of ongoing coronavirus situation
FHA-Food & Beverage to take place as plannedSingapore, 5 February 2020 - Informa Markets, the organiser of FHA-HoReCa, today announced that it will postpone the event to 13-16 July 2020 at Singapore Expo due to the evolving 2019 novel coronavirus situation. The decision was made following extensive consultations with exhibitors & industry partners and considering the knock-on effects on the wider HoReCa industry as a direct consequence of the significant impact to international travel during this period. FHA-HoReCa was scheduled to be held at Singapore Expo from 3-6 March 2020.

The event is an expansion from the comprehensive international food and hospitality biennial trade event in the region, Food&HotelAsia (FHA). FHA is returning to Singapore this year as two dedicated shows – FHA-HoReCa and FHA-Food & Beverage. The former seeks to bring together an extensive line-up of leading hospitality suppliers in the region while the latter is Asia’s largest international event for the food and beverage industry.
FHA-Food & Beverage will take place as planned from 31 March – 3 April 2020 at Singapore Expo. Serving a wide range of industry segments including retail, wholesale, e-commerce and foodservice, the FHA-Food & Beverage event remains robust in the current climate and visitor pre-registrations continue to pour in.

Mr Martyn Cox, Event Director for FHA-HoReCa and FHA-Food & Beverage at Informa Markets, said, “Postponing FHA-HoReCa was a difficult decision but a necessary one, considering the effects on the wider HoReCa industry in Asia. We are now focused on working closely with our exhibitors, event partners and registered visitors to ensure that we offer them the necessary support required as a result of this decision.”

“Moving forward, we will continue to work with the local authorities and take all measures in accordance with the latest advisories published by the Singapore Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Manpower and the Singapore Tourism Board. Our sole focus remains, that is to deliver high quality experiences for our participants attending FHA-HoReCa and FHA-Food & Beverage,” Mr Cox added.

Precautionary measures for the staging of FHA-Food & Beverage 2020

For the later FHA-Food & Beverage event, the organiser will continue to work closely with government authorities and agencies to put in place necessary measures, both pre-event and onsite, to help ensure the safety and confidence of the event’s participants.

“In order to provide a safe and comfortable environment in which for the industry to conduct business, we will be implementing some precautionary measures at FHA-Food & Beverage,” concluded Mr Cox.

Food&HotelAsia unveils Industry White Paper on Smart Innovations for 40th Anniversary edition

Singapore, 8 March 2018 – Food&HotelAsia (FHA) announced the launch of an Industry White Paper in collaboration with Euromonitor International, to celebrate the event’s 40th anniversary. Titled: Smart Innovations Transforming the Food and Hospitality Landscape by 2020, this 20-page milestone report provides a unique insight into major disruptors impacting the industry.

The White Paper is the result of a research study conducted by UBM and Euromonitor which surveyed over 1,000 suppliers and manufacturers covering major food, hotel and foodservice equipment sectors across Asia. The White Paper dives into questions such as where these manufacturers and suppliers expect their import and export business to take shape in the next one to three years, as well as how technology such as Internet of Things (IoT) and automation will shape their future markets and affect business decisions.

HotelAsia in high gear for the unveiling of new and innovative foodservice equipment and solutions The event serves as a gateway connecting international food and hospitality equipment sector amid growing investment in Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE – 1 August 2017 – The hospitality industry in Asia Pacific is projected to see capital investment in Australia and many countries and regions in Asia such as Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Recent figures have put investment volumes in the region in the first half of the year at more than US$2.9 billion, with the focus mostly in gateway cities of Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne.

Recognising sustainability standards through product innovation Jointly organised by HotelAsia and FCSI Asia Pacific Division, the inaugural SCI Equipment Awards is held in support and recognition of food service equipment manufacturers who have incorporated sustainability in their innovations.

The competition will feature six awards in two categories – Heavy Equipment and Light Equipment. Judging criteria and scoring are based on sustainability, cost savings and innovations, with a rating for each criterion. These criteria range from judging the equipment performance, how it minimises the eco-impact, to how it improves work efficiency or saves labour, customer satisfaction and more. Hailing from FCSI, the distinguished panel of judges include: Ms. Clara Pi, Past Chair/China Representative; Mr. Man Kai Hong, Managing Director of Constructive Consultant Co Ltd; Mr. Shigeru Suzuki, President of Y. The Award will conclude with a prize giving ceremony held during HotelAsia2018, and winning innovations will be displayed at the show.

Opportunities for hands-on learning and intellectual discourse The Live Hot Cooking and Plated Food Display categories from Asia’s top culinary competition – the FHA Culinary Challenge (FCC), will be staged at HotelAsia2018, drawing talents from Asia’s culinary world to pitch their skills against peers and present their abilities to a panel of high profile judges. On the learning front, the third edition of Central Kitchen Asia Conference will be held alongside the FHA International Conference’s Food Services track at HotelAsia, providing delegates an opportunity to engage in lively, intellectual discourse with industry thought leaders.
