Wyndham Hotel Group Introduces New Brands in South East Asia’s Key Markets

Singapore (26 October 2017) – At ITB-Asia, Asia’s leading travel and trade show taking place in Singapore this week, Wyndham Hotel Group, the industry leader in franchise development and operations, announced the expansion of its upper midscale to economy hotel brands across the region with seven new franchised hotel openings and two signings across South East Asia.

These properties will be located within key cities of South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines under the Wyndham®, Wyndham Garden®, Ramada®, Howard Johnson® and Days Inn® brands.

“Our diverse portfolio of iconic hotel brands is our competitive edge while our revamped Wyndham Rewards program provides more value to hotel owners and travellers than any program in the business,” said Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director of Wyndham Hotel Group, South East Asia and Pacific Rim.

“Our brands are positioned to help hotel owners build their portfolios and continue to grow with us. There is an easy, natural progression from your first Days Hotel to a full portfolio ranging from the midscale Wyndham Garden and Ramada to the upper upscale Wyndham Grand. Our continued expansion reflects the strong relationships we have forged with our partners – from local developers to management companies and hotel owners – and represents our commitment to develop their businesses and deliver exceptional experiences to the everyday traveller,” he added.

South Korea: Seven New Hotels to Open by Q4 2017

As one of Asia’s most exciting emerging markets with 17.2 million visitations in 2016, South Korea continues to be a country of focus for the expansion of Wyndham brands. The nation is surging with MICE (meetings, incentive, conferences and events) opportunities anchored by Seoul, which is ranked among the top ten cities for conventions according to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) in 2016.

The company’s strong presence in South Korea has grown this year to 29 hotels with 8,025 rooms located across Seoul, Incheon, Busan, Songdo, Gwangju, Dongtan and in the provincial cities of Suwon, Gunsan, Sokcho, Pyeongtaek, Taebaek, as well as the premier holiday destination of Jeju Island.

Wyndham Hotel Group will add more than 2,442 hotel rooms by December 2017, bringing Wyndham’s South Korean portfolio to 36 hotels and approximately 10,467 rooms open and operating.

The seven new hotels due to open this year are: Ramada Encore Pyeongtaek Harbour, Ramada Encore Cheonan, Days Hotel & Suites Incheon Airport, Howard Johnson Incheon Airport, Howard Johnson Cheongju Ochang, Ramada Seoul Sindorim and Ramada Encore Yongin.
